Learn to ride a PWC (jet ski) with the RYA

Proper training is the key to successful PW riding. The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) has been teaching people how to get afloat safely for over a century and a quarter. In that time, their courses and curriculum have travelled around the globe as models of consistency, quality and best practice. The RYA PW competency course is one day of instruction, designed to teach beginners and more experienced riders the essentials of safe, confident water use.

This includes PW control, essential equipment, launching and familiarisation, collision avoidance, orientation at sea, high and low speed handling, emergencies, weather, tides, essential safety information and courtesy to other water users.

Increasingly the RYA PW certificate is required for launching in UK harbours, but is also needed if you want to use your PW abroad.

All new PWs are sold with a £50-00 voucher towards the cost of this course and, once passed, you are issued with a certificate of competence.

Most courses take place over one day and can be taken either on a centres craft or your own.
