An introduction to the PW club development ideas bank

Improving communications - Ideas on how to communicate with your members and the general public more effectively. (Also see PR guidance download at the bottom of this page).

Clubs within clubs - Ideas on setting up sub-clubs within your main club run by interested members, such as 'wave-riding', 'wakeboarding', 'cruising' etc.

Apres PW activities - Ideas on running shorebased activities for your members and their partners/families therefore keeping members involved year round.

Day membership - Ideas for offering day membership to open up opportunities for inviting individuals and members from other clubs to your site therefore increasing income, opening up the possibility of new annual memberships and offering transcient riders the opportunity to ride in a group.

Getting back afloat - Enticing previous members or current members who don't ride often to get back out on the water more regularly.

'How to' workshops - Offering a broader spectrum of activities to your members and increasing their knowledge base.

Inclusion - Ideas on running activities that are open to all and will increase the involvement of members families/friends/partners.

Inter club activities - Running joint events with other clubs or joining other clubs for their events.

Linking up with local authorities - Forging links that could enable continued access, discounted launch/permit fees and 'good-will'.

Open days - Opening your club to the public so they can see what is involved, therefore increasing awareness of PWC activities and possibly increasing membership.

PWC dealer relations - Forging links that could benefit both your club and local dealer by bringing in more consistent custom in exchange for promoting club activities or perhaps discounts on servicing etc.

RYA Training - The ability to offer your members certificated training in PWC and associated courses such as first aid, VHF and basic navigation.

Varied membership - Offering different types of membership i.e. summer only, family, shorebased only so recruit new members and retain current members by helping them see value for money.

Volunteer Training - Ideas on offering club member volunteers training to make them able to perform a post or be better equipped to perform their current duties; therefore helping retain volunteers for longer periods of time.

Volunteers

Weekend Warriors - Club organised trips to various locations, therefore keeping interest from members in riding,  increasing knowledge base/experience and involving members families and friends.
