Welcome to the recreational and clubs users PWP website. This is the sister site to www.pwpuk.org which is our website that is directed at authorites, harbour masters, marine police and councils.
If you are a recreational or first time jetski user or PWC club then you are in the right place!
The information contained in this website is courtesy of the PWP partners; predominately the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) who is the National Governing Body for Personal Watercraft (Jetskis) who are involved in both training and legal advice.
You may have heard of the PWP (Personal Watercraft Partnership), most people haven't, even those involved in the sport - the reason for this is that for 10 years we have been working in the background, fighting for your rights. If we were too in focus we wouldn't be doing our job! Afterall, the idea is to pre-empt issues and manage them before they become a problem; obviously this cannot be the case 100% of the time but I have no doubt that it would be alot more telling if we didn't exist.
Who are we: The PWP is a group of bodies involved in the PW industry in the UK; from manufacturers, the RYA to insurance broker's. This is probably the only part of their jobs that involve ignoring their competitive positions and joining together for the good of the sport.
What do we do: Our motto is 'Action not Reaction' where possible we are here to help authorities implement effective PW management schemes, therefore resolving issues rather than simply banning them. But what is less known is that we are also heavily involved with assisting PW clubs around the country, encouraging RYA training & education, giving advice on Datatag, insurance and legal issues. Along with calming media up-roar when minor incidents that involve PWs are too often blown out of proportion. The lucky thing about our position is that we have the expertise of so many large and very skilled companies who know everything about their individual sector.
Attention authorities: Please visit our sister site www.pwpuk.org for more information on how we can help you.
Who we deal with: It is a common misconception that we purely deal with authorities, marine police, councils etc; this is not the case, though much of our work involves these bodies we are also here to help recreational riders and anyone using a PW within their workplace. That includes RYA instructors ,casual riders and Clubs. You would be surprised at how much we might be able to help you. So, if you need advice or assistance, just drop me a line at candice@pwpuk.org
To keep waterways open to responsible PWC riders means that the PWP needs to be made aware of any problems, when they first occur so we have a chance to rectify them; so don't stand back and watch, take action!
